About the Author

 

Wanetta Williams is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the mental health field for thirty-seven years. She has been writing since the age of fourteen, when she received her first diary as a Christmas present.

 

She has journaled, written poetry, and songs. Her work has been published in poetry anthologies, and she once won an award for one of the Ten Best Letters to the Editor from the Newark Star Ledger, entitled Disparaging the Cities.

FAQ

1. What inspired you to write this book?

This book was inspired by the children that I worked with throughout
my career. I wanted to create something that could be a tool to opening up
healthy conversations within families.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

While the situations and feelings described in the book could be seen
as normal,  the ideas provided on how to cope can vary from person to person. It
is my hope that children and families are able to identify the things they like to do
and are good at that will help them find their calm place in the midst of chaos.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

This project was created out of a passion for creative writing, being a
helper and a teacher.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

At this point, I think that becoming an author could expand my
professional career and create a business for me. I have already been asked to
attend 2 Back to School events based on the book cover.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

I am already thinking of creating another book for the next age group
or even one for adults as people have requested that.  This could turn into a
series.

6. What will you learn from this book?

1. Children will learn to identify situations that may be disturbing to them.
2. Children will learn the appropriate words to identify their feelings.
3. Children will learn ways to take care of themselves.
4. Children will learn that caring adults are there to help them.
