You do such a good job of building tension without things getting too scary. There are so many great details in here. I love the ‘milkampagne’ at the cat party. So cute! I also think you do a fantastic job having Anabelle and Olivia go through character-building life lessons without this feeling like a book on manners or ethics. And we get to see how much their friendship is strengthened as they face all these challenges. Finally, it’s awesome that part of your conclusion includes explaining that Anabelle and Olivia needed to go through this to help create a younger generation of Starlight Society members. I grew up China and attended a boarding school at 12, where I was introduced to English literature, musicals, and Western culture. This experience helped me become independent, embrace challenges, and develop leadership skills. I formed deep friendships, learned to resolve conflicts with empathy, and discovered a passion for helping others through volunteering.

These lessons shaped my college years, professional life, and inspired the creation of this book. It’s a love letter to my daughter and to anyone who values friendship, courage, and finding strength in life’s uncertainties. I hope it inspires readers to dream boldly, build meaningful relationships, and live with hope.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

“I aim to inspire the next generation through this book by highlighting key character traits such as self-belief, positivity, teamwork, and responsibility. The story emphasizes the power of community, respecting differences, and embracing curiosity to face life’s challenges.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

The story follows two main characters, Annabelle and her best friend
Olivia, as they embark on a magical adventure through the twelve
Zodiac worlds to rescue Annabelle’s parents. These worlds are
inspired by the Chinese Zodiac—a cultural system similar to Western
astrology, where each sign is represented by a different animal. Along
the way, they encounter unexpected challenges and uncover deeper
truths about themselves. What begins as a rescue mission evolves into
a journey of greater purpose, as they learn to unite and collaborate with
the diverse inhabitants of the Zodiac worlds to build a brighter, more
hopeful future.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

Publishing my novel became an extension of my professional journey, reflecting my values, creativity, and leadership. Inspired by my daughter and personal experiences, the story explores growth, responsibility, and connection. Writing gave me a sense of purpose, helped me overcome challenges, and strengthened my brand through creativity and resilience.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

Engage with book festivals, author panels, and media features to promote the book’s unique cultural themes. Host school and library events, collaborate with educators on lesson plans, and partner with organizations for community reading programs.
