FAQ

1. What inspired you to write this book?

A Love Like Ours or Un Amour comme le nôtre was inspired by the extraordinary
journey Jerry and I shared – a love story built on resilience, sacrifice, courage, and a
deep commitment to choosing each other every single day. Losing him was the most
painful experience of my life, but writing this book allowed me to honor the man he
was and the life we built together. I wanted to preserve our memories, celebrate our
love, and offer hope to anyone who has loved deeply and lost deeply. This book
became a way to say: love doesn’t end. It evolves, it stays with you, it becomes your
strength.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

Readers will feel the tenderness and truth of a real love story – not perfect, but
profound. They will see how two people from different cultures, backgrounds, and
worlds built a life based on gratitude, trust, and unwavering support. Most
importantly, they’ll gain comfort in knowing that love can carry you through darkness,
and that grief is not an ending but a transformation. My hope is that every reader
walks away feeling more connected to their own relationships, their own memories,
and their own capacity to love.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

What made this book unique was my willingness to write from the deepest part of
myself – to share the intimate, real, and vulnerable moments of our journey. It wasn’t
a love story created for a book; it was a love story lived.

My voice comes from experience: being a wife, a caregiver, a fighter, and later, a
widow who still chooses gratitude. That blend of raw emotion, honesty, humor,
cultural contrasts, and unwavering devotion created a narrative that only I could tell.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

Becoming an author gave me a platform to share my truth and my message of
gratitude, resilience, and healing. A Love Like Ours opened doors to speaking
engagements, workshops, media interviews, and a growing community of readers
who connect with my story. It strengthened my brand by showing that my work
comes from lived experience – not theory – and that my mission is to help people
find grace and hope even through life’s hardest seasons.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

I plan to continue writing books that uplift, heal, and inspire. After A Love Like Ours, I
wrote Grace, Grief & Gratitude, the workbook, and I’m continuing to create
courses, workshops, and coaching programs.

My long-term vision includes building a foundation to support caregivers, expanding
my workshops globally, and launching more books – including the French edition of
A Love Like Ours. I want to keep telling stories that remind people of the power of
love and the beauty of choosing gratitude.

6. What will you learn from this book?

1. How unwavering love becomes an anchor in every season of life.
Readers will see how love can bridge differences – cultural, racial, personal – and still keep
you grounded through life’s challenges.

2. How gratitude transforms even the most painful moments.
You’ll learn how Jerry and I used gratitude in small daily ways to survive his illness, my
diagnosis, and the weight of caregiving and loss.

3. How resilience is born from choosing love over fear.
This book shows that strength doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from showing up for
each other with honesty, vulnerability, and faith.
