Unchosen:

The Choices You Don't Know You Are Making

What happens when the life you were given was never truly yours to begin with?

This raw and deeply personal memoir traces one woman’s journey through silence, control, abuse, and survival, into a life she chose for herself. From a childhood shaped by fear and obedience to relationships that tested her worth, she slowly begins to recognize the patterns that were never meant to be hers.

Through loss, rebellion, motherhood, and hard-won clarity, she learns that healing is not loud. It is quiet, messy, and deeply personal.

This is not just a story of what broke her. It is the story of what she became.

Inside these pages, you’ll step into a journey that shows you:

• How inherited emotional patterns can finally be seen for what they are

• Why silence feels safer than truth and how to move beyond it

• What breaking toxic cycles actually looks like in real life

• How choosing yourself becomes possible, even when guilt tries to pull you back

• What healing feels like when it’s lived, not theorized

Unchosen: The Choices You Don't Know You Are Making

“My experience reading Unchosen for the first time was that I had to look through lenses that showed a sight different from my own, to see the story from the angle of a young girl transitioning into a young woman. The view ‘had to be’ different because I have never been either of those – a young girl or a woman. So, reading this from a ‘human’ perspective and not one associated with gender or its identity. The book alone gave me, as a reader, insight into a human problem. A familiar problem. A problem that isn’t just pain, trauma, and dysfunction, but it speaks about the human problem of being ‘unchosen.’ The story is identifiably reflective of the mirrors of our individual and collective consciousness alike. There are chapters in this book that set up a bigger, connected message and awaken the reader. I found myself returning to chapters and paragraphs with a sort of Ah-Ha moment. Thinking to myself, ‘this is my story.’”

“Reading ‘Unchosen’ had me on a roller coaster of emotions. From wanting to hug and protect the girl Tara was to cheering and celebrating the woman she has become! I felt like I was a part of her journey, and each chapter was thought-provoking. As a woman of the same age, it showed me the differences and similarities between our two journeys. We each had our own struggles and were broken in different ways. Yet, we both found our inner strength and our own reasons to push through to find ourselves. The ending questions in each chapter had me reflecting on my own journey through this life and where I’d ultimately like to be myself. Like Tara, my journey is far from over, but I can look back and see how far I’ve come. I can’t wait to see where life takes us both!”
Christina Hytrek
“What I really like throughout the book was that you had the ‘food for thought,’ and those were definitely thought-provoking questions. Some of those questions will help people do a check and reflect on themselves, which is not a bad thing. Sometimes everyone needs to face the man/woman in the mirror. Helps with growth and positive change because it’s never too late to change and redirect your path. Your book is going to help millions, and I can definitely see it being a great read for book clubs, college courses, and groups. Your strength and resilience throughout your life have been remarkable and brave. Some don’t get to tell their story, or don’t want anyone to know their story, but you courageously took ownership. Continue to push through because your story has just begun and will continue to be a bestseller in your life. I am so proud of you.”

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started reading Unchosen, but it ended up giving me a lot to think about. The book encourages you to look at your life, your experiences, and the choices you make in a way that feels honest and relatable. What I appreciated most was that it didn't feel preachy or judgmental. Instead, it felt like a conversation that gently challenged me to reflect on parts of myself and my journey that I hadn't really considered before. If you've ever gone through a difficult season, questioned your path, or found yourself searching for deeper meaning in your experiences, I think you'll find something valuable in this book.

Unchosen: The Choices You Don’t Know You Are Making

FAQ

1. What inspired you to write this book?

Unchosen: The Choices You Don’t Know You Are Making was born from my own experiences
navigating unexpected life transitions, heartbreak, loss, self-discovery, and the difficult
moments that forced me to examine who I was becoming. There were seasons in my life
where I felt lost, overlooked, misunderstood, and uncertain about my path. As I reflected on
those experiences, I began to realize that many of the choices shaping my life were not
always the obvious ones; they were the unconscious decisions, beliefs, and patterns I carried
with me every day.

I wrote this book to help others recognize those hidden choices within themselves. My hope
is that readers will discover that even when life presents circumstances they did not choose,
they still have the power to choose how they respond, heal, grow, and move forward. This
book is an invitation to self-awareness, personal responsibility, and transformation.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

Readers will gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the unseen patterns influencing
their decisions, relationships, and personal growth. More importantly, they will learn that
healing and transformation begin with awareness.

Through Unchosen, readers will gain:
1. Greater self-awareness and personal insight.
2. The ability to identify limiting beliefs and recurring life patterns.
3. Tools to navigate life’s unexpected transitions with confidence.
4. A renewed sense of purpose and direction.
5. Encouragement to embrace personal growth and accountability.
6. Hope that difficult circumstances can become opportunities for transformation.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

What makes this project unique is that it is not simply a memoir, self-help book, or coaching
guide; it is a combination of all three. Rather than offering generic advice, I share authentic
experiences, honest reflections, and practical insights that invite readers to examine their own
lives.

My unique perspective comes from understanding that transformation often begins with the
choices we don't realize we are making. I approach personal growth through self-awareness,
reflection, accountability, and compassion. The concepts explored in Unchosen have become
the foundation of my coaching philosophy and the framework behind Unchosen Choices™.

This book doesn’t tell readers what to think; it encourages them to think differently about
themselves and the lives they are creating.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

Becoming an author allowed me to transform a personal story into a larger mission.
What began as the writing of Unchosen:
The Choices You Don’t Know You Are Making has evolved into a platform dedicated to
personal growth, self-discovery, and intentional living through Unchosen Choices™.

As an Identity and Life Transition Coach, speaker, mentor to youth, and author, I have had
the privilege of connecting with individuals from all walks of life. Through these
experiences, I recognized a common theme: many people feel stuck, disconnected from
themselves, or uncertain about their next chapter, despite having the desire to move forward.

Writing Unchosen created opportunities for deeper conversations and inspired the
development of additional resources designed to support individuals on their personal growth
journey.

Among these resources is my 30-day self-help journal, Duality Is Balance, and my upcoming
personal development framework, The Unchosen Method™. While each serves a distinct
purpose, together they are designed to guide individuals through a deeper exploration of
themselves and the choices that shape their lives.

At this time, I am intentionally keeping many details of these projects under wraps as they
continue to develop. What I can share is that both were created from years of personal
experiences, reflection, mentorship, coaching, and a passion for helping others discover new
perspectives about themselves and their potential.

My vision is to provide individuals with meaningful tools, guided experiences, and practical
resources that encourage growth, self-discovery, and personal transformation.

Becoming an author helped me realize that my purpose extends beyond sharing my story. It
has allowed me to build a platform that inspires conversations, challenges perspectives, and
empowers people to embrace the possibilities that can emerge from life’s most unexpected
moments.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

My goal is to continue building upon the message of Unchosen through future books,
workbooks, coaching resources, and educational programs. I plan to expand the Unchosen
Choices™ brand into a platform that supports individuals navigating identity shifts, personal
growth, and life transitions.

Future plans include:
1. Developing the Unchosen Method™ workbook and coaching framework.
2. Creating guided journals and self-discovery resources.
3. Speaking at events and sharing the message of Unchosen with broader audiences.
4. Offering workshops and coaching programs focused on identity and life transitions.
5. Writing additional books that continue the conversation around self-awareness,
healing, and transformation.

6. What will you learn from this book?

– Lasting transformation begins when we become aware of the beliefs, habits,
and patterns influencing our choices.
