About The Author

Matt McGinnis, a Pennsylvania native and Robert Morris University graduate, began his writing journey with FanSided in 2019. Shifting gears, he dedicated himself to his first fiction book in December 2022. The idea for this story began years before the book’s actual writing, but McGinnis’s deepening passion for stories breathed life into it. His unconventional journey to becoming a published author underscores the belief that achieving anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

1. What Inspired You to Write This Book?

I wrote this book because I love stories. Being able to immerse yourself in a story and become invested in what’s to come is exciting for me, so I wanted to create something that would allow readers to do just that.

2. What will your readers gain from your book?

In addition to being entertained, I hope my readers will see characters in difficult circumstances and feel as though they’re not alone in their own real life struggles. I also hope that my characters’ ability to push ahead and pursue the light at the end of the tunnel will inspire readers to look for the silver lining in all situations.

3. What was your unique quotient for this project?

One thing that I think makes my story unique is the shift in perspective. You get to see the events of the book unfold through the eyes of a variety of characters. This not only provides readers with additional information, but it also adds layers to the story.

4. How did becoming an author help in your brand/business?

Becoming an author has opened the door for new opportunities. It allowed me to express my creativity in a way that helped me connect with different people and be a part of a new community.

5. What are your future plans as an author?

In the future, I will continue writing The Rodney Brothers series. I have a lot more of this story to give, and I’m excited to see one book turn into many more.
